Basic HTML

This is an introduction to basic HTML. It stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and is used for writing websites and webpages and is made up of different "tags". HTML is best written in Notepad, but you can use it in your "About Me" sections for MySpace or another profile. In this tutorial, you will learn the most basic HTML codes. I spaced everything out in lines, as an example, but you can put these in one line when you are using them.

To make something Bold use:

<b>text here</b>
To make something Italic use: <i>text here</i>
To make something Underlined use: <u>text here</u>
To make something Strikethrough use: <s>text here</s>
To make a new line of text:
Sample text
<br> Second line of Sample Text

To make a new paragraph of text or a bigger space between images:
Sample text

<p> Second line of Sample Text To make a link: <a href="http://sitename.com">Site Name</a>
To make the link open in a new window you would add target="_blank" So then it would look like <a href="http://sitename.com" taerget="_blank">Site Name</a> What you would see would be: Site Name

To add an image:

<img src="http://IMAGE URL HERE WITH NO SPACES"</a> We will use our support image to show you: <img src="http://luvablelayouts.com/support.gif"> looks like :

To make an image a link:

<a href="http://SITE.com"> <img src="http://IMAGE URL HERE" border=0></a> You can add the tag used to make it open in a new window if you want. That would look like <a href="http://SITE.com" target="_blank"> <img src="http://IMAGE URL HERE" border=0></a> Where it says "border", where the zero is, you can change it to 1 or whatever number if you want a border around the image. The border will be as thick as the number you put. If you put 1, your border will be one pixel wide. If you put 10, your border will be ten pixels wide.

Using that code, with our support image you would get:
